If you are new to the background checks, then you may be asking how to do a background check. However, you do not have to worry about this because it is actually very simple. Of course ten years ago it was not this simple but thanks to the freedom of information act, along with the advancements in computer technology, all that you really need is an internet connection as well as a credit card.
To do a background check, start by simply visiting one of the many websites that offer them. Type in the name of the person you want to check in the input boxes and hit enter. If you want more advanced options like the ability to enter in a social security number or a birth date, then click on “Advanced Option”.
Once all the information is filled out, click “search” and wait for the results. This is the free background check and once it has been completed you will be given some very broad information, without any real details. From here you can choose the type of search you want or you can stop right there. If you would like the actual information then choose by state, city, region or national checks and move on to the next step.
Now you will need to enter in your credit card information in order to pay for the advanced reports. However, keep in mind that you need to make sure that it is in fact a secure server which you are entering your card information on to. You will be able to tell based on a padlock looking icon on your browser and potentially an alert that a security certificate is being passed to you. Do not worry, this certificate is like a key, it allows only your computer to translate the data being sent between your browser and the server and no one else.
Click on “enter”; when completed and as long as everything is entered properly, within a few moments you should have your results. That is how to do a background check and as you can see it is really a simple process. When everything is completed and you have your results you can simply save them or even print them out so that you have them to add to the application form or whatever the intended use is.
